Choose Thermal: the Alias security door that protects you from external aggressions, even the climate!

The metal materials used to build a security door, while on the one hand necessary for anti-burglary performance can, on the other encourage the flow of energy from the higher (internal) to the lower (external) temperature, consequently wasting energy and often also the formation of condensation that can usually be seen on the frame and, in the worst cases, even mould.

For this reason, Alias’s research & development department has devised a patented solution and designed a generation of thermal break doors, without compromising its famous design quality and maintaining the same dimensions.

A solution that can solve the problem of the continuous transmission of heat in the joint between frame, subframe and wall.

Thermal is the Alias security door whose structure comprises a subframe with extruded PVC and steel armour, combined with an insulated door made from high-performance technical materials. A solution that guarantees a high degree of energy efficiency thanks to the reduction of thermal transmittance (maximum 0.8 W/m2k), a noise abatement of 40 dB and is in EN 1627 anti-burglary Class 3.

In recent years, environmental sustainability and especially thermal insulation have grown in importance and security doors, which must necessarily contain a “little metal” in order to provide security, deserve further attention in terms of thermal insulation. Alias has achieved this by modifying the door joint. To avoid thermal bridging between the frame-subframe, Alias has developed and patented a special solution that exploits the thermal insulation capabilities of plastic materials. This creates a discontinuity in the metal structure that reduces heat transfer. Naturally, this retains the anti-burglary capacity of the door perfectly, reducing the formation of condensation and the thermal transmittance at the frame-subframe-wall hub. The Uf value achieved is approximately 4 times less than that of a standard security frame and allows the demand for higher performance in terms of thermal insulation to be met.
