Twenty years of success thanks to the innovation and the unity of the group THE SECURITY DOOR SECTOR IS COMPLEX: YOU NEED INVENTIVENESS AND PROFESSIONALISM TO STAND OUT.

What is “Industriando”?

Industriando is a multi-channel format designed to tell the story of both the great historical companies as well as that of innovative start-ups, the Confindustria and Telelibertà television show that takes viewers into the factories and offices of companies: a guided tour, from the comfort of your home, thanks to Telelibertà’s cast and crew and the story of the administrators and employees who, each day, enliven Piacenza’s productive fabric. A door that can guarantee excellent performance (from top of the range anti-burglary protection to soundproofing, thermal insulation, and fire resistance) but which has the appearance of a refined design element for your home. It is with this approach that Alias has established itself as a leading company in the Italian market for the design and manufacture of security doors at its Settima plant. The latest episode of Confindustria Piacenza and Telelibertà’s broadcast Industriando tells its story. “Alias was born in 2002, when I left the company I was working for in the same sector, and I decided to create something of my own, reinforced by my then already twenty-plus years of experience”, recalls Dario Vaccari, sole administrator and founder. Even then, Vaccari understood that it would not be enough to simply offer the same product, it was necessary to innovate. “Our doors had a different form and had none of the defects that characterised existing products”, he recalls. “I met Vaccari in another company in the area. Historically Piacenza is the security door capital”, says production director Maurizio Castignoli. “I had a new project in mind for many years, a door that was different from the others. Meanwhile he wanted to create a new company: finding each other was one of those moments”. Then the fateful question, the answer to which would define Alias’s philosophy: “Do we keep to the tried and tested path or do we throw ourselves head-first into absolute innovation? Dario replied immediately, we went for absolute innovation”. Is there an example of Alias’s innovation? Where before, twenty or so pieces were required to create the subframe (to be inserted inside the wall), the company was able to use a single piece. A gamble that required a lot of commitment, especially at the beginning: “The most fun and difficult part was starting the company, building the company from scratch”, recalls Castignoli. “In these twenty years I have continued to invest. It’s better to have a valuable company and be poorer than vice versa” – continues Vaccari – “and then I surrounded myself with people I trusted, smart and respectable, of which I am very proud”.

Silvia Fava, back-office sales manager. “I grew up here with other employees, we helped each other, sharing the good and bad times, just like a family. I’m coordinating a team of seven girls I’m very proud of today. To be part of Alias, you have to have a desire to achieve things, in addition to being able to reinvent yourself and learn, because a security door is an extremely complex product”.

The episode closes the usual Industriando “box” moment, where entrepreneurs entrust their ideal legacy for the future. “If I could leave something of mine in the box for those who will one day take my place” – closes Dario Vaccari – “I would tell them to take care of the people who work at this company, to always respect and look after them”.
